Welcome to Buttercup Class

Year 1

As children move into Year 1, we build upon their early play experiences from Reception and begin to take on more structured learning across the National Curriculum. Children develop their core reading, writing and maths skills in daily lessons and also develop their knowledge and skills in new subjects. Our exciting curriculum is organised into half termly themes. Throughout the year, children in Year 1 travel to space; experience life at the seaside; and consider the qualities needed to be a real-life superhero and make a positive impact on those around them.
